01 · The first conversation
Discovery
Every house starts as a conversation, not a contract. We sit with you — often at Harbourside, sometimes on the lot — and listen for the life you actually want to live. Vision, budget, timeline, and the unglamorous constraints (grade, bylaws, neighbours) are all on the table. If the project is not a fit, we will say so.
You leave with a clear-eyed read on feasibility, a sense of how we work, and — if we proceed — a path into design.
02 · Architects we already know
Design partnership
We do not replace a great architect. We partner with them — Robert Blaney Design, KASA, and interiors studios of similar calibre — and stress-test drawings for buildability, envelope, and cost while they can still change.
Selections happen in daylight, with samples in hand. Nothing is chosen from a PDF at midnight.
03 · The unglamorous craft
Permits & planning
North Shore municipalities are particular, and they should be. We manage the permit path, the energy model, the Tree Bylaw, and the neighbour conversation so the architecture that was drawn is the architecture that gets built. Budget and schedule are living documents, not theatre.
You see the same numbers we see. Transparency is a value, not a slogan.
04 · Carpenters, not coordinators only
Build
Hasler is a builder in the old sense: Red Seal carpenters, a tidy site, and a superintendent who is actually there. Trades are known, not auctioned. The house goes up in a sequence that protects the work already done — which is why neighbours keep commenting on how the site looks at 6pm.
A private client portal carries photos, RFIs, schedules, and selections so you are never guessing.
05 · Handover
Craft & close
The difference is usually in the last details: the reveal, the hardware, the way a stair meets a wall. We punch, we walk, we return. Handover includes how the house breathes, and who to call when something is not right.
Aftercare is part of the build. We expect to know you after the keys.
The portal
What Monday actually looks like.
You get a private job page: photos from the site, the live schedule, selections, and the change-order nobody wanted — in writing, the same day. Greg is still the person who calls if the number moved.

A superintendent on the tools. Trades we already know. A site clean enough that neighbours write. High-performance envelopes and Net Zero when the brief asks for it — and a builder who will argue with a drawing if the drawing will leak.
The first hour is free of theatre.
